FAQs

Application-Specific:

Q: Where should I submit my application?
A: Online. Please do not email us your application since there are Additional Screening Questions which need to be answered online. Without those we will be unable to process your application.

Q: What documents should I include in my application?
A: Please submit your CV, preferably in a PDF format. A cover letter and other relevant university and working documents may also be helpful for your application. If you are applying for a position in Design, please also send us your design portfolio and a coding sample if you're applying for a role in Development.

Q: In what language should I submit my application?
A: Please supply all your documents in English. In case you do not have an English version of your CV, German will also be fine. However, the rest of the online application form should be filled in English.

Q: I couldn't attach my CV online, what should I do?
A: Please double check that your PDF file isn't “read only”; if so please change it to a normal PDF version. As your last option you can also send it to jobs@hitfox.com specifying your name and which position you have applied for.

Q: What happens if I didn't complete Additional Screening Questions but have submitted my application already?*
*Please note that Additional Screening Questions do not apply to all positions.

A: Our team will still screen your application and might ask you to answer some Additional Screening Questions in a separate email.

Q: There isn't a job opening I want to apply for, can I still submit an application?
A: Yes, you can. Please submit a General Application instead and tell us which position or role you have in mind. Our team will then screen your application and double check if there is an upcoming opening or opportunity that might fit your profile.

Q: I want to apply for more than one job opening, what should I do?
A: We strongly recommend that you submit one application only. If you are undecided and / or are interested in more than one job opening please express your interest in other job openings in your cover letter or when answering online application questions. Please note that submitting more than one application will not speed up your application process but in fact slow it down.

Q: My first application was unsuccessful, can I reapply to a different job opening?
A: Yes, you can but we advise you to wait for at least 3 months before submitting a new application. Also it is always best to get in touch with one of our recruiting team members and let them know about your interest in reapplying. Please note that our system saves all of the information from your previous applications.

Q: I've submitted my application, what happens next?
A: Our team will screen your application within the next 10 working days and get back to you as soon as possible. Please note that due to a very high volume of applications, the process can sometimes take a while so please be patient – we will get back to you! :)

General:

Q: How many stages are there in the application process?
A: This depends on the position. For all our Intern and Trainee applicants there is usually a phone interview followed up by a case study and an interview with a Team Leader. We sometimes might also ask you to take part in additional challenges such as online testing and / or check your references. Our Recruitment team will provide you with more details during the first interview call.

Q: What can I do to prepare for the first interview?
A: Make sure that you have read the job description thoroughly and know your CV inside out. In addition, read more about HitFox, our structure, teams and values. Think about areas and ways of how you can contribute and things that you would like to learn here. We want to hear your enthusiasm and ambitions in joining us, as well as why you would be the best candidate for the position.

Q: Do I need to speak English fluently to work at HitFox?
A: Yes, all communication within the company is in English thus fluency in English is definitely a must! In addition, for some localization-related positions we might require you to be fluent in other languages too. If so, the job description will say so.

Q: My question wasn’t answered here, where can I ask for more information?
If you have other questions, you can contact us via e-mail: jobs@hitfox.com.
